Dr.
Richard Treiman
graduated
from St. Louis
University
Medical School
in 1953. His
general surgical
training was
at the Los
Angeles County/University
of Southern
California
Medical Center.
He received
his specialty
training under
the most famous
vascular surgeons
at the time,
Drs. Michael
DeBakey and
Denton Cooley.
During
his distinguished
career, Dr.
Treiman has
received numerous
awards. A
member of
many medical
societies,
he was the
founding president
of the Southern
California
Vascular Surgery
Society and
the president
of the Western
Vascular Society.
He has served
as the chief
of vascular
surgery, clinical
chief of surgery
and chief
of staff at
Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center.
He has published
more than
60 journal
articles and
book chapters
on a variety
of vascular
surgical topics,
with an emphasis
on carotid
artery disease.
He served
as the co-chief
of the vascular
surgery service
at the Los
Angeles County/University
of Southern
California
Medical Center
as well as
the director
of the vascular
surgery fellowship
at Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center.
He has been
the recipient
of many awards
including
Visiting Professor
at the University
of Utah and
the Maimonides
award from
Techion University
in Israel.
He has been
an emeritus
member of
Vascular Surgery
Associates
since 1999,
but continues
to provide
consultative
services.
Dr.
Treiman maintains
his life-long
commitment
to education
as an instructor
of residents
at the Veterans
Administration
Medical Center
in Salt Lake
City, Utah.
